EARLY ALPHA / TESTER SETUP

Your learning,
in the conversation.

Connect your own LangSave account to ChatGPT. What you save while browsing can become part of your next practice.

Before you start

LangSave is not in the public ChatGPT directory yet. Early testers add it manually, using ChatGPT’s Developer mode. Availability depends on your account and workspace policy.

01 / PREPARE IN CHATGPT

Open the connection form.

In ChatGPT, enable Settings → Security and login → Developer mode. Open ChatGPT Plugins and select Create app to open the New Plugin form.

Name it LangSave — Early alpha. Paste this address into MCP Server URL and choose OAuth authentication.

This address goes in ChatGPT’s connection form. Opening it as a website does not install LangSave.

Once the server settings load, expand Advanced OAuth settings. Keep User-Defined OAuth Client selected and press Copy callback URL.

Keep this form open. You need your personal client ID and secret before pressing Create.

If Developer mode is unavailable for your account or workspace, this manual installation route is unavailable. You can still use the Chrome extension.

02 / GET YOUR CREDENTIALS

Connect your own account.

In another tab, open your LangSave connections. Sign in as yourself, choose Get your credentials, paste the callback URL from the form you just opened and generate your connection credentials.

Copy the OAuth client ID and OAuth client secret into their matching fields inside ChatGPT’s Advanced OAuth settings. LangSave requires both, even though ChatGPT labels the secret optional.

Use client_secret_post for the token endpoint authentication method and keep langsave.read and langsave.write selected. The other server settings load automatically.

These are connection credentials, separate from your LangSave username and password. Keep the secret private; it is shown only during setup. Each tester generates their own pair.

03 / FINISH IN CHATGPT

Sign in and start practising.

With both credential fields filled, review ChatGPT’s acknowledgement and press Create. When LangSave opens, sign in with your own account and approve access.

Start a new chat, select LangSave and try:

Use LangSave. I’m learning Spanish. Help me practise a conversation about my day.

Each learner gets their own profile and learning evidence. Return to your LangSave connections and check the status after approval; generating credentials alone does not finish linking.

Seeing “Enter a client ID to use a user-defined OAuth client”?

ChatGPT’s OAuth client ID field is empty. Expand Advanced OAuth settings, then complete step 2 above and paste both generated credentials before pressing Create again. The server address and your account password do not go in these fields.

If you closed the LangSave setup before copying the secret, return to your connections and explicitly replace your credentials. This disconnects any previous ChatGPT connection using that pair. Copy the callback from your current ChatGPT form when reconnecting.
